Our bachelor’s and master’s degrees are designed to encourage our students to think independently and develop their own opinions at an early stage in every programme. Active learning methods are not only more stimulating than the traditional lecturing style, but are also proven to help students develop their problem solving, critical thinking, communication and interpersonal skills, which are sought after by most employers. Students learn through a combination of lectures, seminars, group work, assignments and self study. The year is broken down into 4 blocks, each lasting 10 weeks. In each block students follow specific courses for 7 or 8 weeks, with exams are held in the remaining 2 or 3 weeks of the block. This means that there are generally 4 exam periods per year.
The UG is also among Europe’s top institutions in the field of academic research. The internationally renowned, ground-breaking research undertaken by our staff contributes to all areas of society. Our students join a well-established, globally networked community where they are encouraged to take the initiative through independent study and research.
